DEI - Lemme Get This Straight

I honestly just want to see this in print. I know the ending of it already but I want to go through the process of seeing it in print.

So, Trump Administration and the whole MAGA movement calls DEI this terrible thing. Ok. I think that them doing that is racist as hell. But let's see.

They are pretty obviously using the term "DEI" to mean "black people" mostly but sometimes it expands to "women" or "LGBTQ". That's dog whistling, which is racist (and bigoted. and misogynistic...I'll just stop here) They needed a term to use that isn't the word "n*gger" so they now use the term DEI as the acceptable hateful term to say in public.

Even if the first paragraph weren't obvious, what does DEI really mean? Diversity. Equity. Inclusion. They intentionally left off the A of DEI because the A stands for "accessibility", which means that MAGA would openly be saying they're against people with disabilities. That isn't a digestible soundbite because it's ableist, so they repackaged it to DEI. Which, to anyone with humanity, that STILL isn't good because which part do they disagree with? Do they despise diversity? Well, yes they do because several of them have openly said that white men and white men only should be in charge of anything major. Trump has followed that up by firing a lot of minorities from public positions and replacing them with white men.

Does MAGA have a problem with equity? Yep. Trump has removed a lot of safeguards for poor people and minorities. What about inclusion? Unless you're talking about white men taking care of white men, MAGA doesn't care about this either. So while MAGA is anti-DEI in every way possible this logically isn't a digestible point as there is nothing inherently wrong with either diversity, equity, or inclusion. That is, if you're not a racist or a bigot. Or a sexist. Or ableist.

How has MAGA implemented anti DEI policies? Well, they have gone about removing ANY instance of the words "diversity, equity, inclusion" or any synonyms of the sort. They have removed minorities and women from key positions. They have signficantly increased the difficulty of trans people to join the military and have removed honorably serving trans members from the Armed Forces. They have removed scholarships for black and hispanic people. The idea is that nothing that any minority has done should be spotlighted and ANY minority in a position of power should immediately be questioned as to their effectiveness, simply because of their race of minority status. That's racist or sexist as is.

Add to that equation that apparently NOTHING white is ever questioned. Pete Hegseth is not qualified to be a secretary of a small office, much less Secretary of Defense. Gen Brown, only the second black Joint Chiefs of Staff, was replaced by an unqualified white man who could only be installed by the President. There are other examples. I think I made my point here. If nothing white is questioned but anything else is immediately cast an aspersion on...that's racist. Obviously racist.

Look, y'all. They can dress up a pig with a dress and lipstick. It's still a pig. An ugly, racist, sexist, misogynistic, pig. Unless I missed some way that you can simply eliminate the hard work and efforts of ANY minority because it suits you.

But I don't think I missed anything. Depressingly so.

The silver lining is no matter what these ugly racist do they will never be better than the people they're trying so hard to hold back. Maybe temporarily the bad guys win with this.

But it won't last long.

  1. DEI isn’t a “dog whistle for Black people.” It’s an ideology that prioritizes identity over merit. Conservatives oppose it not because they hate minorities, but because they believe race and gender shouldn’t be the deciding factor for jobs, scholarships, or promotions.

The claim that MAGA secretly dropped an “A” for accessibility is false — “DEI” has been the standard acronym for decades.

Trump didn’t “fire minorities because of race.” Every administration replaces officials. Biden’s done the same. Trump appointed plenty of minorities and women to high positions: Ben Carson, Nikki Haley, Jovita Carranza, Elaine Chao, Ajit Pai, etc. If MAGA supposedly “can’t stand minorities in power,” how do those people exist?

Policies like the trans military ban were about readiness and cost, not hate. Scholarship changes were about stopping discrimination against non-minorities. That’s equal treatment under the law, not racism.

And the idea that “nothing white is ever questioned” is flat-out wrong. Plenty of white Trump appointees (Sessions, Tillerson, Bannon, Bolton) were attacked and even removed.

Here’s the bottom line: opposing DEI doesn’t mean opposing diversity. It means rejecting quotas, favoritism, and identity-first politics. MAGA supports merit, fairness, and opportunity for all. That’s not racist — it’s common sense.

  2. Furthermore, your argument shows a shallow understanding of both DEI and MAGA. You act like saying “diversity, equity, inclusion” automatically makes you virtuous, when in reality those words have been turned into bureaucratic buzzwords used to excuse discrimination against people who don’t check the right boxes. You completely ignore that DEI policies have hurt Asians, Jews, and even white women in education and hiring. To pretend that only “racists” oppose DEI is not just dishonest — it’s ignorant. And it’s telling that your argument relies more on insults (“racist, sexist, pig”) than on actual evidence. That doesn’t make you persuasive. It makes you a blatant ideologue who can’t imagine anyone disagreeing with you for legitimate reasons.
