Weird

 When Kamala Harris was announced as the Democrats' nominee for President of the United States one of the trend that occurred is a lot of left wingers or just folks who didn't like whatever Trump and his group of clowns were doing was that they started calling whatever the Republicans did as "weird".

From what I saw it was an effective tactic because sure enough, Republicans would start either calling what the Democrats called "weird" as a response or just balking at being called weird. 

Apparently the tactic didn't fully work because Trump won the election and honestly that's all sorts of disappointing in all sorts of ways that there's gonna be a whole lot of history written about. But what's happened afterward can only be described as weird. 

Trump basically disappeared from public site for a week and half which is weird. Then UFC happened.

I haven't watched much UFC lately because it started getting political. I'm usually not one of those folks, man. Sports will always have an element of politics in it no matter what. Billionaires bilk populations for money for stadiums all the time. That's definitely political. But UFC got political in that every main pay per view Dana White started trotting Donald Trump's sad carcass out there so Joe Rogan fans could cheer at him. That turned my stomach every time. This time was even worse.

This time Donald Trump, his coked up son, Elon Musk, RFK Jr, and Kid Rock were all there. Weird entourage. But then the fighters would come out and a whole lot of them would pay some sort of weird tribute to Donald Trump. If they won or if they lost. The absolute weirdest was Jon Jones. Before his fight against a ridiculously overmatched Stipe Miocic Jon took time to literally point at Donald Trump. After he won the fight he did the weird Donald Trump dance. Then when Rogan came to interview him he literally let everyone know he was doing the Donald Trump dance, did it again, and then thanked him out loud foor winning the election. Weird, weird, weird, weird.

It's weird any UFC fighter, men and women who train so hard and sacrifice so much to get to the main card of a pay per view would in any way idolize a man who is so gross and slovenly. I don't get it. It's weird.

It's weird that married men who respect their wives would vote for a man who physically beat at least two of his wives and who paid $180K to cheat on his third wife while she was pregnant.

It's weird any man can forgive that he shelled out a whole lot of money after it was proven he sexually assaulted a woman and he continued to lie and lie about it even after he paid her money. The judge said he actually raped the woman. How can any man support that?

It's weird any hard worker would support this dude when it's very obvious the only think Trump has worked hard at is conning the rubes. To give the almost literal devil his due he's very good at that.

It's weird seeing Trump appoint people to positions that they are wildly inqualified for and it's weird that there's no one qualified the Republicans could put in these positions. The inmates are running the asylum. 

It's weird anyone thinks that Donald Trump could possibly revive the economy when he's literally the one who sunk it! No lie, to not know this is the craziest thing I have ever seen.

I could go on, I'm sure. But honestly right now I just feel like I'm in the upside down with all of these things. 

And could desperately use some normal. But I don't think any is coming up soon.

Welcome to the Experience

I had a conversation today with my namesake about what it takes to succeed in the podcast world. What, that sentence doesn’t make sense and I have to explain it? FINE. Guess I have to do all the work around here. My name is Delvin. Randomly, on twitter one day, I saw a like or share or tweet from another guy who shared my name, but instead of the last name of Williams, his last name was Cox. Instead of my, like, 500 something followers on Twitter he had about 7,500. I am not used to seeing anyone with my name so I was intrigued. What Can You Do?

A little bit before the whole election I was discussing some political things on social media. I shouldn't even say that it was "political things". A hurricane (Helene) hit in western North Carolina and it absolutely devastated the area. I just so happened to have been traveling south the Friday during the hurricane and there were already signs on the road telling everyone to stay the hell away from WNC. Great warning because it will be years and years before that area is the same. Google literally took an entire interstate, I-40, off the map.  The discussion that I was having with a then friend concerned misinformation that he was spreading. First he was upset that apparently little to no funds were going towards WNC. This wasn't true. Anyone affected in the area just needed to apply and they'd get $750 immediately while being able to apply for more funds.
